    There is a good reason why the nest of a Turkey Hen contains up to fifteen eggs. This child has probably watched his or her siblings dragged off one by one.  In ten years that's a hundred and fifty eggs.  And I can hear the Barred Owls so plump they need toothpicks.     

      And I too sometimes wonder what it'll be like when the Midnight People arrive from their planet in Orion.  They'll have red eyes and pink lips, but I won't care because in their sandwiches it's young bones they'll want.
